Our Story
Wilsons Plant started in the Illawarra with a single ute, a toolbox, and a simple promise: keep local operators moving when their machinery goes down.
What began as a one-man mobile mechanic service has grown into a full-service plant and heavy machinery repair business one that civil contractors, transport operators, and mining crews across NSW now rely on every day.
We’ve earned that trust the hard way. By turning up on time. By fixing it right the first time. By treating every breakdown like our own. Our team is built around qualified diesel mechanics, hydraulic specialists, and auto-electricians with decades of combined experience across plant, agricultural, and mine- spec equipment.
We still operate the way we started local, hands-on, and accountable. Just with a bigger fleet, more capability, and a sharper safety record behind us.
Experience & Expertise

Diesel
Excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, dump trucks, rollers engine rebuilds, transmissions, drivetrain, undercarriage and full preventative servicing.
HYDRAULICS
Pump and cylinder repairs, ram reseals, hose replacement and full system diagnostics diagnosed and repaired on site wherever possible.
ELECTRICAL
ECU fault diagnosis, wiring, sensors, batteries, lighting, isolation systems and full machine diagnostic scans on most makes and models.
Safety & Compliance
Every job we touch is conducted to Australian work health and safety standards including those in mining, civil, and government contract environments.
Our technicians carry current trade qualifications, white cards, EWP tickets, working at heights and confined space certification, and site- specific inductions for the major mine sites we service.
We maintain full public liability and professional indemnity insurance, comprehensive risk assessments and SWMS for every job, and a documented preventative maintenance record system for fleets we look after.
Mobile Capability
Our service vehicles are fully kitted-out mobile workshops. That means we can carry out the majority of plant repairs on site saving you the cost, time and risk of float transport back to a depot.
Each truck carries diagnostic equipment, hydraulic test gear, welding kit, common spares, lubricants, and the tooling needed to handle most jobs in a single visit.
When something can’t be fixed in the field, we coordinate float and recovery directly, so you’re not left chasing logistics during a breakdown.
